Work with us

We hire guides for full time seasonal positions. Contracts start mid-April to early May and end early September to mid-October. We do occasionally hire for part time or shorter term contracts, however, preference is given to applicants that can commit to the entire season.

We accept applications from January 1 – February 15 for the upcoming season.

What it looks like

Guides lead trail rides, assist with wrangling and pack trips, and facilitate skill-based activities. All positions require previous horse experience including a strong sense of safety and risk management and a good foundation of horsemanship and horse care.  Experience and enthusiasm for riders of all levels, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude are necessities.

Due to the high volume of applications that we receive, only candidates that meet all requirements will be considered.

  • minimum 18 years of age

  • legally able to work in Canada

    • no contracts are issued without a valid work visa (or POE letter)
    • we do not participate in the LMIA program
  • local accommodation and reliable vehicle

    • accommodation is not available at the ranch
    • there is no public transportation in the area
  • current CPR/First Aid certification*

    • 20 hour Wilderness First Aid (or better)
  • OCC Field Leader (Equine) certification*

*or willing to obtain – often courses are available at the beginning of contracts
  • physically and mentally fit

  • prior horse experience

    • minimum intermediate level rider
    • comfortable, confident, competent, and safe working with and around horses
    • trailer driving and packing experience are assets
  • must enjoy being outdoors and working with people

  • able to work well independently and as a part of a small team

  • interest and enthusiasm for Western culture and lifestyle

Note
There is no accommodation available at the ranch and no public transit in the area. Staff are responsible for their own accommodation and must have a reliable vehicle.
