Moose Mountain Horseback Adventures is a growing training centre with the focus on teaching students to ride in a non-competitive way combined with sharing essential knowledge around horses.
What We Offer
Half Day Courses A series of 4 half-day lessons going over general riding skills.
Full Day Courses Spend the whole day out at M&M Ranch and learn all you can about horses.
Hourly Lessons For those who want to improve specific skills or just need more effective practise time.
4 half-day lessons. Saturdays 1:00PM-4:30PM
Our “Earn Your Spurs” lesson program is designed for anyone who wants to learn the basics of riding a horse, get into trail riding, horsemanship and how to take care of a horse in general. Horses are incredible and complex animals, we love and respect them and try to initiate the same in our students. We are offering blocks of 4 lessons that go over general riding basics and horsemanship over a 4-week course.
Full Day Courses
Earn Your Spurs – Level 1
We will get you started easily and safely so you get a good basis of knowledge to dare the next steps towards a happy relationship with and on a horse.
Earn Your Spurs – Level 2
Now that you know how horses communicate, we can focus on communicating back to them and learn to be a responsible partner to them.
Earn Your Spurs – Level 3
The canter is the fastest but also smoothest gait. It can be intimidating for a novice rider. We get started on a lunge line but will spend the afternoon on the trail.

In our lessons, we do not follow a set curriculum or course. All of our lessons are customized to accommodate what the riders want to learn or freshen their skills up on. Grooming and tacking are not included in the lesson time, so please allow yourself enough time to prepare your horse for the lesson (about 10-15 minutes before the lesson). If you need to learn more about how to groom and tack a horse, we will include that in your lesson time.
Please allow practice time between Levels depending on your previous experience with horses. For example, if you start as a beginner, you should allow at least one practice session between Level 1 and 2 and at least two practice sessions between Level 2 and 3.
It’s hard to do your “homework” without a horse at home! Riding is a fun and rewarding sport but as any new skill, it takes a bit to get good at it! The Earn Your Spurs Level course will give you a lot of information in one day, but everyone learns differently. In addition to the group sessions, we offer one-on-one Private Lessons or semi-private Group lessons. Those lessons can be booked just like an appointment any day of the week between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm. Later lessons can also be arranged upon request, but are subject to availability.
