This is the second of a 3-level program. Each level is one full day. continue the journey to become a thoughtful and well rounded horse person and learn about trail etiquette, hazards, tack and how to gain speed.

Course Details

Now that you have learned how horses communicate with you, we will dive into how we can clearly and effectively communicate with them! We will learn about the different parts of the horse and the appropriate tack for trail riding. Once we mount up we will focus on improving our skills at the walk and pick up the pace to get familiar with the trot.

You can sit and post a trot. You can name the primary body parts of the horse. You can identify parts of the tack. You can bridle a horse. You will be given a checklist of skills that you should master before moving on to Level 3.

  • appropriate attire for riding (long pants and sturdy, ankle high boots)
  • pen and paper to take notes
  • Water or your preferred non-alcoholic drink to stay hydrated during the day

Learn to ride with MM Ranch

During Level 2 you will learn how to be a good partner to your horse and your fellow riders in a group setting by learning about trail etiquette and what hazards we might encounter while riding. You will learn a bit about horse anatomy and what types of tack are appropriate for trail riding. You will learn how to ride a sitting and a posting trot and get to further practice reining and control on the trail.

A 10% discount is applied with multiple clinic bookings.  Course dates must be chosen at the same time when purchasing the package deal of two or three levels.

Earn your spurs Cancellation Policy

The full amount is due upon booking the course. You may cancel the course up to 14 days prior to the chosen date.

A cancellation fee of 10% will be kept and we will refund the rest. You may also apply the full course fee to another date in the future. New bookings will be subject to availability. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the course date, the full amount is forfeit.
