Education at M&M Ranch

We offer three options for education here at Moose Mountain Ranch. Private Trail Rides can be booked individually or with a small group. Block Clinics are 1/2 day group sessions once a week for 4 weeks, and our Earn Your Spurs levels are one full day each. All education programs are taught both in the arena and on the trail.

about our approach

Our main focus is trail riding. We have been guiding and outfitting for over 30 years so we can say that we know a thing or two about riding on the trails. It is our goal to pass on the knowledge to our students so they can safely enjoy horseback riding in nature. To book an educational program complete an inquiry form

With a focus on education and skill building. We focus on a balanced seat, gentle communication, and general trail riding skills.

Levels 1-3 are each a full day clinic teaching you the foundation of horsemanship both on and off the trail.

This 4 week long ‘clinic block’ includes one half day group session per week for 4 consecutive weeks.

Our Advice

Please allow practice time between ‘Earn your Spur’ Levels depending on your experience level. For example, if you start as a beginner, you should allow at least one practice session between Level 1 and 2 and at least two practice sessions between Level 2 and 3. Practice Sessions can be booked as private Private Trail Rides

“Such an enjoyable experience. Relished every moment. And particularly enjoyed our trail ride on the ridge behind the stables. With: Jackie on Muswa,  Shivon Q,  Joan on Pippin, Macy on Calypso, and myself on Stormy.  Kudos to Jackie for sharing just a little of her Horse Sense with us novices.  Looking forward to Earn your Spurs II.”

Doug,

“Great place to come for a ride, for New or Experienced riders! Lovely horses, and a beautiful environment.

Highly recommend the ‘earn your spurs’ training!”

Matt . R,

“Fantastic, family-run where the emphasis is on education, horsemanship, and care for the animals. Variety of rides available and various lengths, as well as lessons. We’re comfortable bringing friends out who are beginners, and for experienced riders there are more technical rides available. Can’t recommend Moose Mountain highly enough!!”
