The perfect combination for those who can’t decide whether to enjoy the quiet wilderness of the Canadian Rockies or canter across the Prairies and through the badlands of Southern Alberta.
THE ITINERARY
Guests arrive in Calgary before 4 PM, transfer to M&M Ranch, reception, accommodation at the ranch
After breakfast, meet “your” horse and get acquainted, Ride to Threepoint Camp ( 5 hours), overnight in tents
Ride from Threepoint Camp to Elbow Camp ( 8 hours), overnight in tents
Ride to Box Canyon (4.5 hours), return to Elbow Camp
Ride through the Cougar Gap (7 hours), return to Elbow Camp
Pack up camp and ride with pack horses to Trailhead (ca 1 hr), group ride continues over Powderface Ridge (ca 4.5 hours), return to Ranch, overnight at the Ranch
Transfer to Writing-on Stone Provincial Park (4 hours by car), set up camp and vet check for Competitive Trail Ride, overnight in tents
Participation in Border Coulee Competitive Trail Ride (Novice or Intermediate Category), overnight in tents
Leisurely ride through the Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park ( ca 2 hours), transfer back to ranch in the afternoon (4 hours by car), overnight at the ranch
Departure and transfer to Calgary after breakfast

Ride 5 days in Kananaskis Country (see Forgetmenot Ride for description) and finish with a Ride in Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park, Southern Alberta.
It is the perfect combination for all those who can’t decide whether to enjoy the quiet wilderness of the Canadian Rockies or gallop across the Prairies and through the badlands of Southern Alberta.
This itinerary is an outline of what to expect, rather than a fixed agenda. We may have to alter the plan if conditions like weather, bear activity or river water levels make a trail unsafe.

Summary
Experience the contrast of two very different and exciting landscapes!
5 days of guided riding in Kananaskis Country, travel with the horses to the beautiful Writing on Stone Provincial Park and participate in a Competitive Trail Ride, followed by a leisurely ride on Sunday before travelling back to the Ranch.
Pick up from Calgary Saturday and return to Calgary Monday, 3 nights in our guesthouse, all meals from Saturday night to Monday morning.
Must be comfortable with a faster paced ride.

Walk on moderate to difficult terrain, long trots and canters in open country
- 3 nights at the M&M Ranch ($50/night surcharge for single rooms applies)
- 6 nights in camp ($50/night surcharge for single tent)
